North Brisbane officers were honoured at the 2019 Neighbourhood Watch Queensland (NHWQ) state conference held in Toowoomba.
Last 2 November, the 2019 Neighbourhood Watch Queensland recognised one community member and one police officer from each police station across the state for “demonstrating their outstanding commitment and service to the community.”
Present at the ceremony were Member for Ipswich West Jim Madden MP representing the Honourable Mark Ryan, Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services, and Assistant Commissioner Brett Schafferius for the 2019 Neighbourhood Watch Queensland (NHWQ).
Senior Constable Carol Spurdle from Hendra Crime Prevention was awarded the Liaison Officer of the Year award for the North Brisbane District whilst Mrs Katherine Bourke won the Community Member of the Year for the North Brisbane District. Mrs Bourke is the area coordinator for Hendra NHW group.
“Today’s award winners have gone above and beyond to work in partnership with the QPS and their community members,” Assistant Commissioner Schafferius said.
